The Orioles acquired De La Cruz from the Cubs on Thursday in exchange for Andrew Kittredge, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. De La Cruz is a 17-year-old shortstop who was just signed in January. He's slashed .262/.442/.417 with nine steals in the Dominican Summer League and is a high-upside lottery ticket for the Orioles.
De La Cruz went 3-for-6 with a home run, three total RBI and an additional run scored in Thursday's 12-11 loss to Atlanta in 10 innings.
