CYPRESS, Texas – A Cypress rescue is remembering seven dogs who were headed to their fur-ever home when the vehicle transporting them suddenly became engulfed in flames.

The 11 dogs from the Cypress area of Houston were on their way to adoptive homes in New York when there was a fire in their transport van on I-270 in Illinois in Madison County.

Texas lawmakers have sent a scaled-back zoning proposal to allow smaller homes on smaller lots to Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk — a bid to put a dent in the state’s high home prices.
