For the first time, paid streaming subscriptions hit the 100 million mark in the U.S. last year, while vinyl sales continued their nearly two-decade resurgence with $1.4 billion in sales, according to Recording Industry Association of America's annual recorded-music revenue report.

In RIAA's 2024 year-end music report, U.S. revenue was up as streaming subscriptions and vinyl sales grew, with total revenue up 3% to $17.7 billion.

The RIAA says revenue from vinyl hit $1.4 billion in 2024. That's the highest figure since 1984, when consumers started shifting toward CDs.
