The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF0 tornado touched down in Coweta County on Monday, part of a line of storms that swept through the metro Atlanta area.

NEWNAN, Ga. — A second tornado has been confirmed from Monday's line of severe thunderstorms in north Georgia and metro Atlanta. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Peachtree City confirm an EF-0 tornado touched down in Coweta County with maximum winds of 75 mph.

Officials said three people were inside the home when the tree fell. Two people got out safely while one remained trapped. Erlanger firefighters rescued the person and took them to St. Elizabeth for what appears to be minor injuries.
