The weather service reports that Lake and McHenry counties saw the highest snowfall totals in the northern Illinois area during a two-day snow event this week, which led to many vehicle crashes.

In the latest twist in the effort to bring Illinois into compliance with a 2023 ruling by the court, eight counties allege the state's tax code requires them to violate the rights of property owners.
