Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that its game against the Indiana Fever on July 15 at 8:00PM EST has officially sold out. This game will be the second-ever WNBA game to be held at TD Garden, after the Sun defeated the Los Angeles Sparks at TD Garden on August 20,
What's clear is that Providence would face stiff competition from Boston, where the Connecticut Sun already have an established audience.
The chances of bringing the WNBA to Providence remains slim, but WPRI’s Eli Sherman reported Friday that Governor Dan McKee had a meeting to discuss the possibility of relocating the Connecticut Sun to Providence.
