Lafayette College spokesman Scott Morse said the college has agreed to pay $2.7 million for the inn. He said the inn’s few part-time employees will be considered for positions deemed necessary.
The inn at 525 W. Monroe St. was put on the market this year and plans to close Aug. 31. A sales price was not disclosed, but real estate website Loopnet had a list price of $2.7 million.
The report came in shortly after 10:00 p.m. Friday night. A 13 ON YOUR SIDE crew went to the scene and noted the intersection of College and Leonard was blocked off in all directions.
In 2021, the College Hill property was sold for $1.95 million, according to county records. Lafayette said earlier that it would continue to operate the property as an inn.
