Hurricane Ian before and after images show destruction of Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach Parts of Florida have been left unrecognizable in the wake of Hurricane Ian.

FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. – Crews on Monday will begin the demolition of Flagler Beach’s iconic pier. The pier, which was first built in 1928, was severely damaged during Hurricane Ian in 2022.

The Beach Bar on Fort Myers Beach, destroyed by Hurricane Ian, is reopening on July 4th. The new three-story building is the first small business completely rebuilt after the hurricane.

A historic landmark on Florida’s east coast is about to get a long-awaited makeover, as work begins to dismantle and rebuild part of the Flagler Beach Pier.

Nearly three years after Hurricane Ian ripped away a section of the historic Flagler Beach Pier, construction to rebuild it is finally set to begin this month.
