Long Beach’s target Pavement Condition Index score, used to assess the conditions of pavement, is set at 60. In 2023, the city reported a score of 56, a two-point decrease from 2021.

The city will begin closing streets on Wednesday, April 9, as officials make final preparations for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, which will take place from Friday to Sunday, April 11-13.
