The City of Houston doesn't have an official map, unlike many other U.S. cities, and there are a wide variety of ways one can define a neighborhood's boundaries.

Houston and Harris County are again at odds over funding for Mayor John Whitmire's ambitious push to "end street homelessness" as the city's fund for the initiative remains short of its goal.

Houston sees population growth in the suburbs, but the city remains stagnant. Areas right outside Harris County are seeing the greatest population growth, according to U.S. Census data.

As of 9:45 p.m., Sen. John Whitmire was leading the Houston mayoral race with 43% of the vote and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee trailed behind with 37%.
