Council chambers were cleared for half hour after disruptions White ordered the chambers emptied at 7:34 p.m. when council also went into recess. Council reconvened at 8:01 p.m.

Jacksonville City Council chambers were cleared for about 30 minutes due to audience disruptions. Several people were taken into custody by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office during the disruption.

Work started May 22 to update the council chambers. The construction is part of what the city is calling the “Council Chambers Improvement Project.” Work is expected to wrap up in early July.
