Carol and Bill Eckerle, who passed away in 2020 and 2022, respectively, left $18 million to be split equally among the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Cincinnati Museum Center and the Taft Museum of Art.

The zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cincinnati Art Museum is hosting a Mother's Day brunch on the Terrace Café from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and prices can be found on its website.

The original zoo buildings were designed by James W. McLaughlin – architect of the Old Main Library and the Cincinnati Art Museum. The Monkey House building survives today as the Reptile House.

Zootropia is put on by the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Located between 12th and 13th streets, this art installation brings together light, music and different curated oddities to entertain attendees.

The zoo says Gladys, 11, is having her arm heal well and had her 3D-printed titanium cast — the first of its kind in the world — removed during a checkup.
