In recent weeks, a “Christmas barn” has shown itself just east of the Clearwater/Annandale, Minn., exit along the south side of Interstate Highway 94.

The Christmas Barn is a bank barn, built into a hillside. At the checkout counter, behind the glitter-soaked Santas, signs counting down the days until Christmas and red devils, it’s solid earth.
