An East Chicago man shot by police Tuesday evening is in stable condition, according to his uncle, who says witnesses to the shooting claim his nephew didn’t start the issue.

Shortly after 3:15 a.m. Thursday, a group was outside in the 600 block of East 133rd Street when someone opened fire striking four victims, Chicago police said.

What we know The 37-year-old was found around 3:20 a.m. with gunshot wounds to the torso and leg in the 2000 block of East 103rd Street, according to police. He died at the scene.
