A 33-year-old woman died in an apparent drowning at Cedar Lake Beach in Denville on the evening of July 13, authorities said, as New Jersey grapples with rising concerns over water safety.

A woman was found dead in a local lake over the weekend, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said. First responders were called out to Cedar Lake Beach in Denville on Sunday shortly before 6 p.m.
