A London gallery, built to house the private art collection of artist Damien Hirst, has won the coveted 2016 RIBA Stirling Prize for the UK’s best new building.

Damien Hirst's long awaited Newport Street Gallery is now open, costing £25m and designed by Caruso St John — the architects behind the much lauded refurbished central atrium of Tate Britain.
