Cartoon Network’s Future Despite losing the first preschool-focused programming block that Cartoon Network had in over fifteen years, the cable network still has plenty coming down the pike.
Cartoon Network explained their big brand refresh this week. As more eyeballs hit the channel as a result of the larger Warner Bros. Discovery restructuring, the company has to forge a new path ahead.
Importantly, that growth also carried over into the network’s 8 p.m. programming block, and Cartoon Network/Adult Swim now ranks sixth among ad-supported networks in primetime.
A new block, “Checkered Past,” will debut under the Adult Swim banner — on the channel it shares with Cartoon Network — starting August 28 on Monday through Friday at 6 p.m.
