Despite shaky consumer confidence, Memorial Day weekend travel is expected to spike this year, along with gas prices in California.

The drop in consumer confidence isn’t a California quirk. Nationally, there’s been a 22% drop since October to a level that’s 6% below its average since 2007 – and the worst since May 2020.
