CBP Home replaces an earlier app that allowed migrants to sign up for asylum interviews at the US-Mexico border.

The Trump administration has introduced the CBP Home app, a new platform designed to replace the CBP One app and facilitate the self-deportation of individuals in the U.S. illegally, Customs and Border Protection announced.

The new feature on a U.S. Customs and Border Protection app allows undocumented migrants “a chance to leave before facing harsher consequences,” the agency’s head said.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection app, called CBP Home, will offer an option for someone to signal their "intent to depart," the agency said.

The app, known as CBP Home, allows migrants to submit an "intent to depart", which US Customs and Border Patrol says offers them a chance to leave without "harsher consequences". US officials have repeatedly suggested that undocumented migrants in the country should leave voluntarily,

The CBP Home app gives aliens the option to leave now and self deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on the social platform X.
