Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa is celebrating its first official bilingual troop. Troop 535 was recognized and celebrated at the organization's annual Inspiring Women of Iowa luncheon on Friday.

It's officially Girl Scout cookie season in Central Iowa.Sales started Saturday. The Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa says they serve around 1,000 troops and have around 5,000 local sellers.

Many troops around the Des Moines metro start selling cookies on Friday, Feb. 7, according to the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa website. Sales will continue until March 23.
