Yeah, 4x8 is a big table, I was thinking something more along the lines of a coffee table. <BR>As to getting the heights of the caps all the same, I'd think using some kind of a press would do it.

So instead of building the table out of 2 by 4s, I chose 2 by 6s and ran two 2 by 6 joists from front to back on 16” centers. The overall width of the table is 48 inches and the depth is 30 inches.
