NJ Transit has gotten $1.6 billion. Veronica Vanterpool, the acting administrator of the Federal Transit Administration, was in East Orange on Tuesday to make the announcement.

An $83 million grant is set to help preserve and restore the historic features of the Brick Church Station in East Orange. The federal grant to NJ Transit will also add some much-needed upgrades.
