A fire last year forced its closure, but Sacramento leaders this week designated the bowling alley a local landmark.

Until the pandemic, it remained open 24 hours a day. Whitestone Lanes remains shiny and well-maintained on the inside, but the cracked facade outside betrays the bowling alley’s faded glory.

Sean Miller and his family became the new owners in 2010. “I don’t think most businesses last that long, let alone a little six-lane bowling alley in Greene, NY,” said Miller.
