Facebook will not take action against users posting the phrase "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," following a Wednesday ruling from Meta's oversight board.

Earlier this month, Meta's Oversight Board found that three Facebook posts containing the phrase “From the River to the Sea” did not violate Meta’s content rules and should remain online.

Although the phrase “from the river, to the sea” can have multiple meanings, it is not an inherently hateful or violent statement, Meta’s oversight board ruled on Wednesday.
