2 dead, 3 wounded as gunman opens fire on Kentucky churchgoers after shooting state trooper at airport
Christine Combs, 34, and Beverly Gumm, 72, were killed Sunday after a gunman opened fire on churchgoers at the Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, the Lexington Police Department said. Both women were members of the church, while two male congregants were also wounded – one critically, according to cops.
According to Kentucky State Police, a trooper who was shot during a traffic stop on Terminal Drive received immediate help from a family of good Samaritans before crews arrived on the scene.
