Reporter Seth Klamann wants to talk to Colorado drivers who've picked up one of these black-and-white license plates about why they made the switch and what they liked about the plate.

But they didn't strike Evers' proposals for two new license plates — a "blackout" plate with white letters on a black background, and a "retro" plate featuring black letters on a yellow background.

Starting July 1, 2025, the state will start offering a blackout-style license plate that features the outline of the state in all black with white lettering.
