A Birmingham lounge employee has been charged in the weekend shooting death of a patron. Jordan Jackson, 19, of Gardendale, is charged with murder in the Sunday slaying of 32-year-old Quantez Banks.

Birmingham police were dispatched at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, to Mel’s Place at 3921 Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard North on a report of a person shot.
