By the 1920s, the church had become too small, and George F. Johnson offered to give a "substantial amount" for the building of a new church if it would be named after his mother, Sarah Jane Johnson.

The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1 Saint Johns Parkway in Johnson City. St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be holding its 96th Ukrainian Day Festival on July 12.
