Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam reached a major career milestone, scoring his 6,000th ODI run in the tri-series final against New Zealand on February 14. Babar achieved the feat in his 123rd inning (126th match), becoming the joint-fastest player alongside former South African opener Hashim Amla to reach the landmark.

Pakistan's star batter Babar Azam levelled Hashim Amla's world record to become the joint-fastest player to complete 6,000 runs in ODI cricket. He completed the 6,000-run mark in 123 innings, the same number of innings taken by Amla.

Babar is also eyeing another record in ODI cricket. He is set to join Inzamam-ul-Haq as the only Pakistan batters with 100-plus fifty-plus scores across formats. Babar's international tally includes 99 half-centuries and 31 tons.
