Rather than simply dropping the A4/S4 for 2025, Audi also then stretched the A5/S5 replacement out by another 2.6 inches of wheelbase. Bigger and bigger, better and better—perhaps.

Audi says the A5 has 41.3 inches of rear legroom (the S5 has just 41 because of thicker seats) and 37.2 inches of headroom. Cargo space is a big deal in this car since it's now a liftback.

The six-cylinder diesel engine accelerates the S5 Coupé in 4.8 seconds and the S5 Sportback in 4.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The electronically limited top speed is 250 km/h (155.3 mph).

The S5 boasts a 0-60 mph time of just in 4.4 seconds, which Audi claims is faster than the Mercedes-Benz C 43 and the BMW 440i. The S5's engine and gearbox have amazing synergy.

Audi 6. Bring greenbacks for your Sportback Audi made much of the A5 Sportback’s $43,575 base price, or $55,375 for the S5 Sportback. Both models do offer a generous array of standard features.

The Audi S5 Cabriolet is not a new car. Oh, the one I drove is new in the sense that it's a 2015 model, and the one I drove had fewer than 1,000 miles on it, but it's not really a new car.

The 2018 A5 Sportback will set you back nothing short of $42,600, while its beefier S5 sibling, whose upgrades include a 3.0L engine and S Sport Suspension, starts at $54,400.

The 2015 Audi S5 may be a couple of years old, but it embodies how many things that Audi gets right. With its standard all-wheel-drive system and supercharger, it's a bit unique among sport coupes.
