Consumer tech giant Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) decades-long relationship with Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn is undergoing a quiet but significant transition in recent months.

Last year, it debuted the Apple Vision Pro, a $3,000 mixed reality headset. Today, it is clear that the Vision Pro has been a total flop for the company, with very few headsets actually sold.

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has entered a rough patch. The smartphone and computer giant is down around 10% in the last 12 months, while artificial intelligence (AI) stocks are soaring.
