The four bills making up the budget and capital spending plan were part of a flurry of thousands of pages of legislation that went from introduction to passage in the final 48 hours of the legislative session.
“This is not a prescription drug affordability bill,” said Lori Reimers, lobbyist for the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association. “Costs will rise. When you give more money to pharmacies, when you restrict tools that lower cost, the cost of insurance and health plans are going to go up on your constituents.”
The budget proposal, revealed a day before a key deadline to pass it, includes more than $1 billion in tax increases — but none that are "broad-based," leaders said.
