For one, Dell actually announced the Area-51m at CES in January of 2019, and we reviewed it in April—that's to say, it did not launch in the summer as the lawsuit claims, but several months earlier.

Next came the Alienware Area-51m R2. It features Intel’s desktop 10th-gen CPU with up to 10 cores, new cooling, beefier electrical underpinnings, and Nvidia’s RTX Super series of GPUs.

Alienware has really stepped up with the new Area-51m R2 gaming laptop, as it has a bunch of user-replaceable parts. This includes the CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, thermal cooling components, and more.

In other words, you can upgrade to the already-available RTX 2070 and 2080 through upgrade kits but not the new RTX 2070 Super and 2080 Super options that are shipping with the Area-51m R2.

At around 8.5 pounds, the Area 51m isn't as sleek and light as Alienware's recently announced m17, which weighs just 5.79 pounds (that's very light for a 17-inch gaming notebook).
