Alaska State Troopers initially said the men were in a smaller boat, but revised the size estimate. One man, a 19-year-old, was able to swim to shore, troopers said, but two other men weren’t found.
The pilot called 911 when the float equipped de Havilland Canada DHC-3T Turbo Otter seaplane crashed, and Alaska State Troopers alerted the Coast Guard about the crash at 8:45 a.m. local time.
