Update, 2:40 p.m. Wednesday: The three Alaska State Troopers who shot and killed a wanted Wasilla man in Houston after he allegedly drew a gun on them Saturday night have been named.

PALMER — Alaska state troopers shot and killed a 34-year-old Wasilla man hiding in a camper on a Houston property Saturday after he “produced a handgun,” public safety officials said.

Alaska State Troopers initially said the men were in a smaller boat, but revised the size estimate. One man, a 19-year-old, was able to swim to shore, troopers said, but two other men weren’t found.

The pilot called 911 when the float equipped de Havilland Canada DHC-3T Turbo Otter seaplane crashed, and Alaska State Troopers alerted the Coast Guard about the crash at 8:45 a.m. local time.
