Does Alaska Airlines' 1st European Route Make Sense? - MSNOn June 3, Alaska Airlines revealed its first European route. Starting next May, the one world member will begin flying from Seattle —by far its most-served airport—to Rome Fiumicino.
The company introduced Seattle-Tokyo flights last month and is scheduled to start flying from Seattle to Seoul on Sept. 12. The Rome route will use a 787-9 operated by Alaska Airlines.
The airlines has announced new nonstop service between Seattle and Rome starting in May 2026. "Serving Rome nonstop from Seattle is a dream come true," said Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci.
Alaska Airlines will connect Seattle with Rome beginning next May. The service will be the first between Seattle and Rome, and Alaska's first route to Europe.
