Notre-Dame de Paris felt to me almost like a giant hospital. When I attended Mass, there were nearly 2,000 people who came, as the celebrant put it, because they were moved with a desire to repent.

PARIS - Church bells will ring out in unison across the U.S. Saturday to celebrate Notre Dame’s reopening five years after a devastating fire.

According to the head of the establishment for the conservation and the restoration of Notre Dame, Gen. Jean-Louis Georgelin, the plan is to reopen the church to the public in 2024.
