The soda syphon is another 1970s style icon which has made a comeback in recent years. It was a must-have in any 70s drinks cabinet, injecting much-needed fizz to many a party back then.

After all, soda syphons have been around since the early 1800s, and rose to massive popularity in the 1920s, when they became a perennial set-piece in slapstick routines and Noel Coward plays.
