SummerSlam is the WWE's second-biggest show of the year, but there have been times throughout the near 30-year history of the event where it stole the spotlight from WrestleMania by being the better show.

WrestleMania 41 didn’t feature any ladder matches, but originally plans suggested a ladder match for each night of the show. On the Intercontinental Title side, Jey Uso would’ve defended against Damian Priest, Sami Zayn, Sheamus, Bronson Reed, and Ludwig Kaiser. Uso would’ve likely defeated Breakker on the Road to WrestleMania.

SummerSlam is WWE's second most significant premium live event each year, and the 2025 version is shaping up to be a mainstream spectacle, with musician Jelly Roll participating in a tag team match.
