CABLE, Wis. ( KBJR /Gray News) - A Wisconsin family is glad they had a role in rescuing a bear that had a jar stuck on its head for more than a week.

A bear in western Wisconsin was freed after spending more than a week with its head trapped in a jar, surviving by burning its fat stores and dunking its head underwater to drink through punctures in the jar.

A bear seen wandering around northern Wisconsin with a jar on its head has been freed."My immediate neighbor was like, 'Hey, just heads up, here is what's heading towards your house,'" said Jayme Morey.
