Pope Leo, a native of Chicago's south side and a long-time fan of his beloved but beleaguered White Sox, sent a video message on Saturday to a sellout crowd attending Catholic Mass in his honor at their hometown ballpark.

There's a mural of Pope Leo XIV at the White Sox's park, near where he sat for Game 1 of the 2005 World Series. Yeah, the Chicago native once known as Father Bob is a fan.

The first American-born pope was pictured wearing a Sox hat during a public appearance at the Vatican, putting an end to the speculation of which baseball team he supported.
