The director of national intelligence has rankled Trump with her statements about nuclear war, and the president has suggested she’s off message.

For years, various hawks and neocons have been claiming that “Iran is just weeks away from having a nuclear weapon.” No sane person wants Iran to get a nuclear weapon. But at some point, the Chicken Little “sky is falling” cries must be questioned.

Key Trump administration officials are keeping mum and instead boosting the president’s statements about Israel’s attack on Iranian — even as the White House insists the cabinet is “united” about the US response.

According to recent U.S. intelligence assessments, the objective of regime change has long been part of Israel’s policy. Some U.S. officials believe Israel saw an attack on Iran as an opportunity to try and topple the regime.

Gabbard, who recently visited Hiroshima, Japan, reflected on the devastation and "haunting sadness" caused by the atomic bomb dropped during World War II in a post on Tuesday. In the video, she warned that political elite and warmongers are fomenting fear and tension, pushing us closer to "the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before."
