Tiger Woods has passed on his final chance to play in the Players Championship.  Woods' name was absent when the Players field for 2025 was released shortly after 5 p.m. ET by the PGA Tour.

Two days before The PLAYERS teeing off, it was revealed that Tiger Woods sustained a tear in his Achilles and was forced to undergo surgery.

It is expected that Tiger will next step onto the opening tee box at Augusta National when the 2025 Masters begins in April

Tiger Woods’ body continues to fail him. On Tuesday, Woods announced on social media that he had ruptured his Achilles tendon while training at home. He has since undergone surgery to repair the tendon.

Tiger Woods is not entered in the 144-player field for The Players Championship, which begins next week at the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass with 48 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

The 49-year-old hasn't played the tournament in six years and now leaves himself with very few opportunities remaining to compete before the Masters in April.

Tiger Woods' 2025 debut won't be at next week's Players Championship. The field for what's widely considered golf's "fifth major" was released late Friday afternoon, and Woods wasn't among the players listed.
