Fire crews in Ventura retrieved a submerged Tesla Cybertruck from the bottom of Ventura Harbor on Monday. The driver was attempting to launch a jet ski at the time of the accident. Elon Musk has previously claimed Tesla Cybertrucks could float and briefly function as a boat.

Capt. Carson Shevitz, a spokesperson for the towboat firm, said a Ventura Harbor Patrol unit had been doing its usual sweeps shortly before 11 a.m. when the crew spotted the Cybertruck. It was reportedly quickly rolling backward down a ramp that leads into the water in the 1400 block of Anchors Way, he said.

On Monday morning a Tesla CyberTruck ended up underwater at the Ventura Harbor Launch Ramp while attempting to launch a jet ski. The operation to recover the submerged vehicle drew a coordinated effort from multiple local agencies and specialized tow services.
