According to Deadline, Netflix has gained the rights for a new action comedy movie based on the 1980s police procedural T.J. Hooker, which starred Shatner and Heather Locklear. T.J. Hooker ran from 1982 to 1986 and is regarded as one of Shatner’s greatest shows, aside from Star Trek, of course.

In the same tradition that produced a fairy tale story in Season 1, the Lower Decks crossover and musical in Season 2, and the recently-announced puppet episode for Season 4, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 delivered an episode with an especially kooky premise this week on the 2025 TV schedule.

During a July 29 interview with CBS Mornings, Wesley, who began playing Kirk during the second season of Star Trek: SNW, said he made an effort to not minic Shatner's performance. He also noted that his version of Kirk is younger than Shatner's on Star Trek: TOS.
