As Southern America breathes a sigh of relief from last weekend's chaos, a new storm looms, threatening to stir up fresh fears and memories of devastation.

Weather forecasters warn about a major multiple-day outbreak of severe weather that includes multiple strong tornadoes from the Mississippi Valley to the Gulf Coast, Great Lakes and Atlantic coast through the weekend.

Severe weather hit Alabama on Saturday, and more storms will be possible through the overnight hours. Several areas in central Alabama, including Calera, Gordo, Maplesville, Pletcher and Sipsey, have reported damage as of late Saturday.
