Rather than say good riddance to Rafael Devers, the Boston Red Sox spoke kindly of him entering this weekend’s reunion and series against the host Giants.

Rafael Devers said he knew immediately after hitting the first home run of his San Francisco Giants career on Saturday against his former teammates on the Boston Red Sox that the ball was going out of Oracle Park.

Brayan Bello, his good friend and now-former teammate, provided a fastball on the outer third of the plate in the bottom of the third inning. Devers, as he did so many times across nine seasons with the Red Sox, launched it the other way to left field.
