PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates had a chance for a late comeback, but a home run robbery saw them fall to the Cincinnati Reds in a 2-1 defeat in the series finale at Great American Ball Park.
The Reds took care of business for the day on Sept. 25, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates, 2-0, in a rain-delayed matinee at Great American Ball Park. The victory brought Cincinnati (81-78) to within a half-game of the New York Mets for the final National League playoff spot.
