Major League Baseball's 2025 trade deadline is on Thursday, July 31st, at 6:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, or 3:00 P.M. Western. Once the deadline passes, no MLB trades can occur, though sometimes a deal will be announced shortly after the deadline passes. But, as long as it's submitted to MLB before the deadline, a deal can pass.

The Padres have multiple needs and a thinner farm system than a year ago, which might mean they have to settle for another rental or two.
ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan said that the Padres are considered a top fit for Kwan in the event that the Guardians trade him. The White Sox are in no rush to trade Robert away, considering that they're a bad team anyway and they wouldn't get much value if they let go of him now. They have the time to try and rehabilitate his value, so a scenario in which they accept his option for next year isn't too difficult to envision.
