Major League Baseball's 2025 trade deadline is on Thursday, July 31st, at 6:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, or 3:00 P.M. Western. Once the deadline passes, no MLB trades can occur, though sometimes a deal will be announced shortly after the deadline passes. But, as long as it's submitted to MLB before the deadline, a deal can pass.

The Padres have multiple needs and a thinner farm system than a year ago, which might mean they have to settle for another rental or two.

ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan said that the Padres are considered a top fit for Kwan in the event that the Guardians trade him. While they aren’t jumping off the wall to deal the two-time All-Star, the Guardians — who are limping to a 52-53 record so far this season — would be silly to not listen to offers.

The San Diego Padres have entertained the idea of trading Dylan Cease, as he continues to underperform in the final year of his contract. But getting rid of Cease in the middle of a Wild Card chase feels counteproductive,

His opposite-field, bases-loaded shot off Dylan Cease in the fifth inning was just his seventh homer in 74 games of his encore.

The White Sox are in no rush to trade Robert away, considering that they're a bad team anyway and they wouldn't get much value if they let go of him now. They have the time to try and rehabilitate his value, so a scenario in which they accept his option for next year isn't too difficult to envision.
