Over 20,000 North Texans woke up without power Monday morning as strong storms moved through the Metroplex. Oncor, which provides power to the bulk of North Texas and the state, reported about 2,000 customers still without power at around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

North Texas will see a slight reprieve from the heat this weekend as storms roll in. It’s been a scorcher of a week for the Metroplex as the region finally recorded its first 100-degree day of the year on July 29. Triple-digit heat continued on the following two days, including 104 degrees on July 31.
