Avelo, formerly a charter service known as Casino Express or Xtra Airways, launched on April 28, 2021, the town and airline said. The airline flies to dozens of U.S. cities, including Albany, New Haven and Hartford, as well as Cancun, Mexico; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, according to the company's website.

Houston-based ultra-low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines is adding its third-ever route out of its hometown market as part of a larger nationwide expansion. The new flight will connect Houston’s William P.

Houston-based Avelo Airlines has added Long Island MacArthur Airport as a new destination, offering flights to North Carolina and Florida. Introductory fares begin at $59. Avelo is the fifth airline to join the airport. Also flying out of MacArthur are Breeze Airways, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines.
